From Purpose to Impact: A Vision for Service and Accessible Education

By Dr. Sarah Elliott, Vice President of Philanthropy & Operations

Leadership is often measured by the height of one’s vision, but at the Ebed-Melech Foundation, I believe it is truly measured by the depth of our service. As I step into the role of Vice President, I am not simply assuming an office; I am answering a call to ensure that “purpose” is never sidelined by a lack of “opportunity.”

My commitment to this foundation—and to every individual we serve—is rooted in a simple, unwavering belief: Education is a right, not a luxury. A Bridge, Not a Barrier. For too long, financial constraints have acted as a locked door between brilliant minds and their potential. Whether it is through the Ebed-Melech University or our global outreach initiatives, our mission is to be the key that unlocks that door. We are dedicated to providing education and resources to those who need them most, regardless of the numbers in a bank account.

My focus will be on building a philanthropic strategy that is as sustainable as it is compassionate. To our donors and partners: your stewardship allows us to transform lives. To our students: your financial situation does not define your future—your purpose does.

Healing-Centered Leadership

As someone who has spent years navigating the intersection of storytelling, coaching, and advocacy, I understand that education is more than just academic; it is restorative. We aren’t just filling classrooms; we are healing communities. By removing the stress of financial burden, we allow individuals to focus on what truly matters: their growth, their faith, and their capacity to give back.

The Path Ahead

In the coming months, my goal is to strengthen the systems that support our scholarship programs and expand our reach into communities that have been historically overlooked. We will move with excellence, lead with heart, and operate with the transparency that our mission deserves.

I invite you to walk this path with us. Whether you are a prospective student looking for a chance to learn or a partner looking for a way to give, there is a place for you here. Together, we will ensure that every individual has the tools to walk in their purpose and leave a lasting impact on the world.

The work is great, the mission is clear, and the time is now.
